KNOXVILLE (WRCB/NBC) – The Rhea County Executive charged with soliciting prostitution has been granted judicial diversion.

The NBC affiliate in Knoxville reports George Thacker entered a Best Interest plea Friday morning, and was granted judicial diversion.  If he keeps his record clean for the next six months, the case will be dismissed.

Thacker was taken into custody during a prostitution sting earlier this month after allegedly offering an undercover officer fifty dollars for a sexual favor.

Thacker could have faced as much as six months in jail and a $500 fine.

He is due back in court on November.
